"I teach yoga to children because there is nothing more inspiring than watching a child discover the freedom, creativity and confidence that comes from feeling good in your own skin."

Emma Charvet, Co-Founder of Wild Tree Yoga

In twenty years of practice and fifteen years of teaching Emma Charvet has created her own individual style, inspired by the dynamic flow of breath and movement in Vinyasa Yoga, and an inexhaustible curiosity about the body.

Her classes are guided by her knowledge of anatomy and injury management and a profound awareness of our need for deep rest and mindful connection to our bodies. Emma has been teaching yoga and mindfulness in schools for over ten years in the UK and has seen hundreds of children grow in confidence, resilience and strength through yoga. She is an accredited trainer with Yoga Alliance Professionals , Co-Founder of Wild Yoga Tree and Massage Therapist.

Emma is a passionate advocate of yoga, mindfulness and massage a therapeutic tool for children and young people. She works with Inclusion Managers in schools to provide Yoga Therapy Programmes for children with special needs, developing yoga routines to calm the nervous system and stimulate physical development. She offers in house schools training for teachers and teaching assistants.

When not teaching or training she can be found immersing herself in wild places on the South Downs and juggling single parenthood with her love of climbing, running and sea swimming. Her classes blend traditional yoga, breathing exercises and mindful meditation with a lifelong love of nature, sports, storytelling and games.

After ten years in the voluntary sector, working in the fields of children and health, Emma was inspired to train in Children's Yoga after the birth of her second child. Her inspirations on her yoga journey include Clare Missingham, Jo Manuel at the Special Yoga Centre and Uma Dinsmore-Tuli of Womb Yoga.

As a teacher and parent  Emma believes that now more than ever, children need yoga in order to navigate the information-heavy world they are growing up in. She believes that having a generation exposed to yoga from primary school age will create a force for positive change.
